Otley Road, Harrogate

Solar PV and battery storage installation completed on Otley Road in Harrogate. The system combines a 6.45 kWp south-east-facing solar array with 10.24 kWh of battery storage, module-level monitoring and solar-powered hot-water control.

System installed:

• 15 × LONGi 430 W all-black solar panels

• 6.45 kWp total installed solar capacity

• Sunsynk 5.5 kW ECCO inverter

• 10.24 kWh battery storage

• Tigo optimisation and monitoring on each solar panel

• All-black on-roof mounting system for a slate roof

• Direct solar hot-water heating controlled through the inverter

The south-east-facing array was designed to make effective use of the available roof area. The all-black panels and mounting components provide a neat finish on the slate roof, while Tigo optimisation allows individual-module monitoring and supports performance where conditions differ across the array.

Battery storage allows suitable surplus solar electricity to be stored for use later, helping the household use more of the energy generated on site. The hot-water control provides another useful destination for solar generation when household electrical demand and battery charging requirements have been met.
